Santa Monica

Santa Mónica (just like LA) had 4 transition: Native American land/Mexican ranch/American Resort Town/Mix residential but after WWII it would go through it last one when it became hippie-urban thanks to the woke tourist that came down the Route 66 and the Pacific Coast Highway — and today you can experience all the versions of this SoCal town.

This walking tour would take you around the streets of Santa Monica: where robber barons and tycoons built their luxury mansions by the beach during the Gilded Age and where mass tourism came down through the historic Route 66. The area is characterized by: palm tree lined streets, beaches and little shops of all kinds. The tour suggests checking out the graffiti at Venice Beach, breakfast plus the Getty Village in the morning; the Santa Monica Museum, 3rd street promenade plus lunch in the afternoon; and to end the day the Santa Monica Pier plus a joint by the beach.
