During the construction of the freeways many minorities were displaced creating the gangs of LA to protect their communities against “the system” and embracing the hip-hop culture (rap, djs, graffiti and break dance) until it became cool world wide — and today you can indulge in some cultural appropriation and explore where the cool kids of LA hang around.

This walking tour would take you around the streets of WeHo where bars and hotels opened on during the 70s the sunset strip turning it into the red light district of LA and where the gays have made it its capital wi. The area is characterized by: Mid-Modern architecture, highways and fast food restaurants. The tour suggests visiting street wear brands on Fairfax Ave, brunch plus art galleries in the morning; longe wear brands on Melrose Ave plus furniture stores during the afternoon; and to end the day dinner around the gay district of LA plus bar hoping on sunset boulevard (plus a drive up and down the sunset strip before going to your hotel).
